The Invisalign Treatment Process

The process to Invisalign is simple, minimally invasive, and can be completed in a few steps, including:

• During your initial consultation, we’ll examine your oral health and determine if Invisalign treatment is right for you. If you’re an ideal candidate, we’ll create a customized treatment plan to meet your specific needs.
• We’ll take x-rays and create a mold of your teeth to send to a lab where your Invisalign trays will be crafted just for you.
• Once you receive your trays, you’ll begin wearing them for 22 hours a day, only removing them to eat and drink. 
• Every two weeks, you’ll swap out your aligners for a new set that will gradually shift your teeth into their desired positions.
• One of our dentists will monitor your progress throughout the treatment to ensure you’re on track with your plan and make any adjustments as needed.
• Once your treatment is complete, you can enjoy all the benefits of a flawless, healthy smile!

When you swap out your trays every two weeks, you may feel discomfort for the first few days.  This is because the new trays are working to gradually shift your teeth into the proper position. As your teeth adjust to the new trays, any discomfort will fade quickly.

Invisalign Care Instructions

It’s important to properly care for your aligners so you can stay on track with your treatment plan. Invisalign recommends wearing the trays for 22 hours per day and only removing them prior to eating or drinking. 

Before placing the trays back in your mouth, you’ll want to rinse them and brush your teeth. You’ll only want to drink cool water while wearing the trays, so you avoid damaging them. At night, you can use a toothbrush to clean your aligners and soak them in antibacterial soap to keep them free of germs. 

During your treatment, you’ll want to continue your regular oral hygiene routine by brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and rinsing between meals. Be sure to store your trays in their container to prevent damage when you’re not using them.
