Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I have a dental exam and cleaning?
It’s important to schedule a routine dental exam and professional cleaning with Dr. Snider every six months, or at least twice a year. This removes any plaque or debris build-up in hard to reach places, and lowers your risk of tooth decay and gum disease.
During a regular cleaning, we’ll also give your teeth a detailed polishing so you’ll leave our office with a fresh smile ready to show off. If you’ve had any gum problems or infection, Dr. Snider may suggest coming in more often for additional cleanings to help maintain your oral health.
When should children have their first dental visit?
We recommend scheduling your child’s first dental visit around the age of two or three. During this stage, children’s primary (baby) teeth become erupted, or showing through the gums. Their first visit is targeted toward educating children on the importance of dentistry and how to practice oral hygiene habits at home.
Dr. Snider provides quality, trustworthy general and pediatric dentistry for patients of all ages. To learn more about our services, give us a call at (817) 236-8771 and we’ll schedule your free consultation with Dr. Snider.
What are some of the benefits of dental implants?
Dental implants are a durable, permanent solution for patients seeking to restore any number of missing or damaged teeth. They’re custom designed to match the color and feel of your teeth, giving you a natural-looking, stunning smile that you won’t want to hide.
Not only will implants restore the beauty of your smile, but this incredible tooth replacement option also offers several benefits including improved speech, chewing, comfort, and convenience. Best of all, dental implants are the only restoration that’s secured to your jaw bone and promotes healthy bone growth.
I have gum disease. Can I still get dental implants?
If you have gum disease, it is still possible to get dental implants. However, you’ll likely have to undergo a supplemental procedure before starting the dental implant process. Dr. Snider provides gum disease (periodontal) treatment to help restore healthy gums and better prepare you for successful implant placement.
Periodontal treatment is completely safe and effective, allowing you to qualify for our long-lasting, beautiful dental implants. Our practice features several implant solutions to ensure there’s a solution that works for every patient and their individual needs.
My teeth are crooked and crowded. Is there a faster way than braces to straighten my smile?
In addition to traditional metal braces, Dr. Snider offers a variety of functional orthodontic treatments such as Herbst Appliance Therapy, Invisalign® Aligners, palatal expanders, and self-ligating braces. During your initial consultation, we’ll examine your entire mouth and discuss your smile goals to determine the best, most effective solution to fit your lifestyle.
Whether your teeth are crooked, crowned, misaligned, or gapped, our Fort Worth practice has an orthodontic treatment that will exceed your dental expectations. Contact us at (817) 236-8771 or fill out a convenient contact form and we’ll schedule your free consultation.
